For candidates

We're calling on all candidates in the local elections in London this May to commit to ending the scandal of empty homes in their boroughs.

Why should I pledge to take action on empty homes?

In October 2017, there were 46,254 empty homes in London - that's a scandal at a time when so many people are struggling to get on the property ladder, and with rough sleeping at such high levels.

Councillors have a big part to play in solving this problem: Local Authorities are being given the power to double council tax on empty properties.

But councils have to commit to actually using these powers. That's why we're asking you to take our pledge.

I'd like to sign your pledge, how do I do so?
